We are on the move! Squeeee!!!

Squeak - where she is her happiest. Digging in the dirt. If I had to describe her in a sentence I would use "noise with some dirt on it.'

Imp - waiting to pop up while Squeak sings "Pop goes the weasel." She dresses in the most individual and funkiest way.

My Johnson Obsession

Yes I am obsessed with Johnson dinnerware.

It started out as just a passing admiration for them but it has since developed in a full blown enthusiasm to collect as much as possible. It can be a bit hit and miss around here in regards to finding pieces from Johnson that sometimes you don't see anything for a while. Then you pop into a church oppy,  find four butter plates and four dinner plates while trying to stop yourself from hyperventilating. So what do you when you find yourself in that situation? You buy the lot of course. Not that I needed all of them but I couldn't help myself. Now what do I with them?! Suggestions?

My collection is rather tiny at the moment and want to add to it, but considering we are attempting to downsize I may have to curb pack on my lust for the stuff. I may just have to blog hop and drool over everyone else's pieces.

Squeak - taking a huge bite out of her apple. Now if we could teach her to eat all of it instead of me finding half eaten apples strategically left throughout the house.

Imp - Coerced me into making some more playdough and then spent the next hour creating with some Birdy playing in the background. I just love her lashes in this one.

When goals give you a roundhouse kick in the gut.

We have spent the last fortnight on excited tenderhooks while we waited to hear back if Husband got the job.

Job? What job?

A really interesting and cool one in another state. We are planning on moving from where we are to Tasmania. It is something that I first touched on here way back in January last year when I lamented about our lack of "village." After long talks with Husband, we decided to take the plunge and make a firm commitment to move to South Tassie. It was cemented further when I went to Hobart for the Homebirth Conference last year and just felt so at home there. By this time, Husband had already started applying for jobs and had been doing so for a few months.

12 months later and we thought the drought had been broken. He got an interview and we all hoped that this was it. The job was perfect: pay, area, everything perfect.

This was shattered in a cut and paste email from a faceless person in their HR department saying "thanks but no thanks."

Gutted. Disillusionment. Defeated. These are the emotions I am feeling. All we want to do is escape this town and move. We can't do this until Husband finds a job. I have tried availing to the universe for good news and to help us. Anything and everything to help propel us towards our goal. Nothing is budging. I feel like a butterfly trapped in a glass jar, battering my wings against the side of it while all the time being able to see the freedom through the transparent cage.

This week I am in a crabby mood. Over it. Had enough. Blah Blah Blah.  Wallowing in a ridiculous amount of self pity.

I just want to take flight.

6/52 - The Birthday Edition

It's a little bit of a different one today as today Squeak is three!

Three years since you shot across the birth pool.
Three years of kisses and cuddles, tears and grumpy growls, laughter and chatter.
Three years of being in our family.

We love you Squeak.

New River

Imp - This sums her up perfectly at the moment. Loads of flitting around all over the place
Squeak - In awe of all the water and contemplating jumping into "the big puddle"

Thank you to everyone who left a kind comment under the 4/52 photos. I am sorry I didn't reply to any but with all the weather that landed upon us last week, I was in a completely different head space. Please know that your comments meant a great deal.
